Week beginning 3rd November 2014

This week we have been learning about multiplication in maths and the different vocabulary that is associated with multiplication. The children drew pictures of arrays, groups of items and lots of items. They were very excited to be new member of the mathletics site and have already created their own avatars and started to earn lots of credits. We hope this will be a fantastic platform to improve each child's mental maths, as well as an opportunity to recap key mathematical concepts.

We wrote some fantastic characterization profiles using just a hat and jacket for inspiration in English this week! When the children write they think of themselves as authors and they are working very hard to improve and redraft work.

We were delighted to welcome Mr. Rickett on Tuesday  to tell us about his war experiences and explain about the key events of World War Two. He was also impressed with the children's knowledge and understanding.

The choir in Year 4 have had a very busy week and I have heard how beautifully they have sung from Mrs Metcalfe and Mrs O'Brien. Well done!

Finally, Year 4 worked very hard to prepare and lead  a wonderful assembly on Remembrance on Friday. Well done for learning your lines and speaking so clearly!
